UK ends golden Visa program

UK ends golden Visa program amid security concerns, but is this all political?

UK visas offering foreign investors fast-track residency will be scrapped with immediate effect, the Home Secretary announced.

Priti Patel said ending Tier 1 investor visas, for those spending at least £2m, was the start of a "renewed crackdown on illicit finance and fraud".

The visa scheme was introduced in 2008 to encourage wealthy people from outside the EU to invest and bring wealth to the UK. However, the visa programme has been under review for some time, after concerns it is open to abuse.

The announcement appears to have been rushed following the Ukraine crisis and pressure on ministers to cut UK ties to Russia, a source confirming the decision to the BBC on Wednesday.

The Tier 1 (investor) visa, known as a "golden visa", offers residency to investors and their families investing £2m or more in the UK. Similar golden visa schemes operated in other European countries.

Holders are then fast tracked for permanent residency in the UK, at a speed depending on how much they invest. A £2m investment allows an application within five years, shortened to three years with £5m or two years if £10m is invested.

8 tips to survive the coming recession

What can you do to prepare for the coming recession?

Watch video version.

Signs of a downturn include:

·        Household electricity and gas bills are doubling.

·        Cost of petrol at the pumps highest it’s ever been.

·        Raw materials up by over 30%, cost of shipping is up 10 times.

·        The UK official inflation rate is now the highest it’s been for 30 years.

·        Food and essential household item inflation is running at 20 to 30%.

·        Farm prices, fertiliser and seed are all soaring, with fertiliser up to hundred percent on last year due to the rising price of natural gas used in the production of nitrogen-based fertilisers.

·        Food inflation is rampant and unlikely to slow this year making life much harder for ordinary families.

·        Families will spend more on household essentials, such as fuel and petrol, sucking money out of the wider economy which will affect company earning.

·        A stock market correction or crash would reduce investment, increase unemployment and loss of billions in people’s savings.

·        A property crash could lead to substantial losses, mass repossessions and a squeeze on lending.

In a previous podcast last year, I advised followers to “invest” in non-perishable foods and household goods, as prices were likely to rise faster than most other investments you could put your money into.

US national debt now exceeds $30 trillion or 128% of GDP. In 1980 the US National debt was just 34% of GDP and in 2000 59% of GDP. UK national debt is over £2 trillion.

Greedy banks are failing to pass on interest rate rises to savers despite two recent hikes by almost .5%.

8 tips to survive the coming recession

1.      Make a spreadsheet of all your income and outgoings. I cover this in my books and many of my podcasts. This is vital if you are going to get control of your finances and a must during a downturn when your income will be squeezed.

2.      Tighten your belt. Cut out all unnecessary expenditure and check those standing orders and direct debit‘s to get rid of memberships and services you no longer require or use. Unfortunately, this has a knock on effect on businesses and almost becomes a self filling prophecy driving the world further into recession.

3.      Reduce credit card balance or pay off if possible. With credit card interest running anywhere between 18 and 40%, it makes no sense to have money in the bank earning less than 1%. You should still have a cash reserve but if you can pay off cards or switch them to lower interest or interest free deals then by all means do so as this will save you a fortune in interest payments.

4.      Build up a cash reserve of 6 to 12 months of outgoings. This is essential during a downturn when the job may not be safe. Everyone should have cash reserves equivalent to 6 to 12 months of household expenditure. In reality, 90% of people have no savings and are only a couple of salary payments away from bankruptcy and homelessness.

5.      Take a part-time job to earn extra money or change jobs. With inflation running at record rates, your income, even with pay rises, will not be keeping pace with rising costs. You may need to consider finding ways of earning extra money through a part-time job or home-based business.

6.      Review your investments. Review your investments to ensure that you are not exposed to a stock market downturn or crash. This includes your pension funds and any savings ISAs or mutual funds. Seek independent financial advice. Fund managers and advisers will often advise you to stay in the market even if it’s going down.

7.      Review your mortgage, insurance loans and suppliers. Reviewing your loans and suppliers can save your fortune and is even more important during the recession. Loyalty does not pay. I have saved thousands of pounds by switching mortgages, utility suppliers and insurance contracts.

8.      Finally, stay positive and plan to come out of this recession even stronger. During a recession, many people give up and say things like, there’s no point in working because nobody’s got any money. Make sure you are working harder than the competition.

Almost 5 million Migrants Granted UK Residence Under EU Settlement Scheme

Almost 5 million Granted UK Residence Under EU Settlement Scheme

Despite warnings of a mass ‘Brexit exodus’ of European migrants, it has emerged that just under five million people were granted the right to live and work in the UK under the EU Settlement Scheme so far, according to official estimates.

Home Office figures reveal that, as of the end of June, some 4,908,760 EU citizens had been granted an immigration status to remain in the country as full freedom of movement to live and work in the UK came to a close following Brexit transition.

EU citizens – as well as people from Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland – and their families were invited to apply to the scheme by the June 30 deadline.

Quarterly data published this week showed that the Home Office had processed 5.5 million applications for settlement by the deadline, with the highest numbers of applications coming from Polish, Romanian and Italian nationals

The latest figures are much higher than the official estimate of how many EU nationals are living in the UK. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) indicated that in mid-2020 this was 3.5 million.

More than six million applications (6,050,860) were submitted between the launch of the scheme in March 2019 and the June 30 2021 cut-off date.

Over 2.8 million applicants were granted settled status, allowing them permanent leave to remain in the UK.

A further 2.3 million (2,327,850) were granted pre-settled status, meaning they need to reapply after living in the country for five years to gain permanent residence or indefinite leave to remain in the UK.

Included in this number, immigration status was granted to 295,890 people from countries like India, Pakistan and Brazil under the scheme, which allows family members who are not EU or European Economic Area nationals to also apply.

The Home Office said: “Across all nationalities, the highest numbers of applications received were from Polish, Romanian and Italian nationals. This has been the trend throughout the life of the scheme.”

There were 109,430 applications refused, 80,600 withdrawn or void, and 79,730 were deemed invalid, where the Home Office decides someone is not eligible to apply or has failed to provide sufficient proof of residence.

The Home Office said 8% of the applications were from “repeat applicants” (472,220).

Among the applications were more than one million from children (1,002,280).

Some 772,260 of the applications from under-18s finalised by the end of June were granted an immigration status, while 32,870 requests were refused, withdrawn, void or invalid, the figures indicate.

In London, Newham saw the highest number of applications to the scheme (142,120). Outside London, the highest number was in Birmingham in the West Midlands (138,490).

It is still not known how many people in the UK are eligible for the scheme but could remain in the country undocumented.

Anyone who has not yet applied may have lost their lawful immigration status after the deadline, although late applications can be made under limited reasonable grounds and the Government has said there is no cut-off date for doing so.

Those who applied before the deadline but have yet to receive a decision are protected under existing rights, subject to the outcome of the application and any appeal.

Anyone who does not apply and continues to live in the UK without being able to prove their immigration status could face enforcement action. Most migrating EU citizens will in future need a work permit to live and work in the UK.

The UK has one million job vacancies including a shortage of lorry drivers and builders, much of which has been blamed on Brexit. However, the latest Home Office settlement figures appears to contradict this claim.

The mainstream media keep spreading rumours that there will be empty supermarket shelves this Christmas because of the lorry driver shortage and Brexit, yet everywhere I look there’s a lorry or van thundering down my street!

You can’t move for delivery vans dropping off goods to people who for whatever reason prefer not to go to a shop.

Finally, if most of our food is imported, would that not be delivered by a lorry from the country from which the food is being sent? Of course it would! That’s why our motorways are clogged up with juggernauts from Spain, Netherlands, Romania, Poland and just about every other EU country.

Refugee To British Royal Family, The Incredible Story Of Prince Philip Who Has Died Age 99

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and Queen Elizabeth II's husband of 73 years, has died aged 99, at Windsor Castle.

In a statement just after midday, the palace spoke of the Queen's "deep sorrow" following his death at Windsor Castle on Friday morning.

The Duke of Edinburgh, the longest-serving consort in British history, had returned to Windsor on 16 March after a month in hospital.

Boris Johnson said he "inspired the lives of countless young people".

"It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband," the palace said.

"The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss."

Speaking at Downing Street, the Prime Minister said that the Duke had "earned the affection of generations here in the United Kingdom, across the Commonwealth, and around the world".

The flag at Buckingham Palace was lowered to half-mast and a notice was posted on the gates following the announcement of the Duke's death.

Prince Philip was born into nobility on the Greek island of Corfu on 10 June 1921. His father was Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark, younger son of King George I of the Hellenes. His mother, Princess Alice, was a daughter of Prince Louis of Battenberg and a great-granddaughter of Queen Victoria.

His family fled Greece as refugees when he a baby. He once said that they would have been stateless, after Greece became a republic, were it not for the patronage of the Danish Royal Family who gave them Danish passports.

Philip, Christened Philippos, was his parents’ only son, after four daughters. By then his grandfather, who ruled Greece as George I, had been assassinated by a Greek in 1913, and his successor, Philip’s uncle Constantine, had been deposed four years later for failing to support the allied powers, including Britain and France, in the first world war.

After the three-year reign of his second son, Alexander, Constantine was reinstated by referendum in 1920. Two years later he was again overthrown, in a military upheaval. George V of Britain, son of great-aunt Alexandra, sent a naval cruiser to rescue Andrew, who was facing trial for treason, and his young family. The year-old Philip was placed in an orange box and rowed out to a British ship with the rest of the family.

Prime Minister Johnson praised Prince Philip's service and "bravery" in the Second World War, as well as his contributions after - from being a "champion of the natural world" through to having "shaped and inspired the lives of countless young people" through the Duke of Edinburgh award.

Why Migrate Abroad When You Can Make Money From A Risk-free Online Business

3 Easy Steps To Starting A Risk-free Business From Home With No Capital Or Product

Happy St Patrick’s Day wherever you are in the world!

Each year, millions of hopeful migrants apply for a handful of jobs abroad hoping for a brighter future. But do you really need to fly thousands of miles away from your family to earn money? Not necessarily…

With pubs and restaurants closed for the lockdown in The UK and Ireland, this will be a very quiet St Patrick’s Day. This is a reminder of how vulnerable physical businesses, like pubs, restaurants and shops are to economic downturns or market changes.

At the same time, internet companies are getting richer. Never in history has more goods been bought on the internet. Even before the pandemic, the high street was already under pressure from online shopping, which has exploded in the last few years.

High rents, taxes and competition from the likes of Amazon and Shopify have driven large retailers, , out of business and forced others to start close multiple stores in the UK. The historically successful John Lewis recorded a loss of £517 million last year, but after store closures and redundancies expects 55% of future profits to come from online sales.

How does this help you?

The internet has given small home-based businesses an opportunity to compete with the big companies which have dominated the market. They took the best sites in the high street and malls, and often drove small retailers to the wall with massive advertising and undercutting. Fortunately, this has now changed and that’s how you can benefit from the online bonanza.

You can now set up a risk-free online business or store - from home in your spare time - and sell to a potential market of 5 billion people browsing the internet every day looking for solutions to their problems. You no longer need to rent a shop or premises and pay high taxes and bills before you make a penny. And you don’t have to quit your job until your business income exceeds your salary.

Here are 3 simple steps.

Step 1

Sell solutions to people’s problems

Research your idea or product online – where else! You can check on Google how many people are searching for products or solutions to their problems. For instance, millions of people want to be slimmer and healthier, especially in these times. According to wordstream.com, 450,000 people have recently searched for “how to lose weight” on the internet. Other ‘keyword’ searches like “diet” and “lose weight fast” had similar results. That’s just one niche!

You can literally find out how many people are searching for keyword solutions by checking on Google and specialists like Wordstream.com and Mondovo.com absolutely free. Market research like this was previously only available to large companies with large budgets. Now you can access it for free.

You can get up and running with your online business website today for free with GrooveFunnels. For more information…click here.

Step 2

Set up your online business today

Set up an online business selling products that people are looking for (not what you think the market needs), or sell to people online from your existing business, by setting your website online today. You don’t need to pay a designer or software engineer to set up a website, as there are readymade templates and off-the-shelf website pages to get your business started today. In the past, I have spent tens of thousands on websites because they had to be designed and built from scratch, which took months. Fortunately, you don’t have to go through this pain.

You can now build a simple website for free using GrooveFunnels template pages and built-in shopping cart checkout facilities with a click of a button. GrooveFunnels is offering free lifetime access for a limited period only – no credit card required to open and start using your free account. For more information, click here.

Step 3

Now decide what you are going to sell and how and GET STARTED!

Decide what niche you want to be in and what you want to sell. Unless you already have your own products and business (which you may want to change based on your new research on what people actually want) you can start by selling other people’s products and services for a generous commission of between 10%-50%. This is essentially how some of the biggest companies in the world make billions in profits. Booking.com and Airbnb do not own their own hotels and Amazon helps millions of small retailers and authors sell online for a commission.

If you want to start earning cash today, GrooveFunnels will also pay you a commission to recommend their fantastic free software to your friends, colleagues and customers when you open your free account. Find out how.

Here’s the best part. It’s risk free and no capital investment required! No re-mortgaging your house and borrowing thousands or risking everything to open up a physical business. And you can get started right away. What have you got to lose?

Saint Patrick was a fifth century missionary Bishop and is the patron saint of Ireland. He was a migrant slave labourer kidnapped from his home in England to Ireland at the age of 16, eventually escaping. As well as being a great missionary, Saint Patrick was also an extremely good organiser of the early church. I’m sure if he was alive today, Patrick would undoubtedly be online preaching all over the web, just as the church is doing so right now.

If it is still your dream to work overseas that’s great, but look for opportunities right where you are, as most applicants will be disappointed.

PS. One final thing…this free lifetime access is on offer for a limited period only. GrooveFunnels only plan to keep this offer open for a short while and will soon start charging at least $99 dollars per month to access the same package you can get for free for life – NO credit card needed…FREE LIFETIME ACCESS.

How will new Tech Visa and Global Mobilty Visa help the UK economy and fintechs?

In a little mentioned part of this week’s Budget speech, the Chancellor launched two new UK working visa schemes to attract and retain top tech industry talent.

Speaking to MP’s in Wednesday’s Budget, Rishi Sunak announced plans to introduce “fast track” working visa applications for migrants with a job offer from UK scale-up, together with a new “Global Business Mobility” visa.

Potential recruits will not need to obtain a third-party endorsement or be backed by a sponsor organisation in a major simplification of the current tight Immigration Rules.

The significant shift in recent immigration policy follows a review led by former Worldpay boss Ron Kalifa, which urged the government to make the highly skilled migration system more tech-friendly.

The government has listened to lobbying from the tech industry bosses after the Brexit referendum threatened the loss of top talent.

Overseas migrant workers represent around 42% of UK fintech employees, of which EU workers form 28% of the talent pool.

The industry welcomed the new visa schemes as a “golden opportunity” for fintechs and startups more widely.

“The new visa presents a golden opportunity for the UK to continue to trailblaze in fintech – encouraging entrepreneurialism, investment and growth,” Rafa Plantier, head of UK and Ireland at open banking platform Tink said.

But what will the scheme actually mean for startups on the ground?

The revamped visa system comes at an already difficult time for small businesses dealing with immigration changes due to Brexit.

“As UK employers prepare for the period beyond Covid-19 and Brexit, they will be receptive to a visa system that enables them to access the talent and experience that they need,” Joanne Hennessy, immigration law expert at Pinsent Masons said.

Access to top talent may help in reducing costs and administration in the long run compared to the limited options currently available, PwC’s immigration partner Lindsey Barras added.

“Highly skilled individuals will be able to undertake short-term contracts, or work for a range of businesses throughout their stay in the UK, without the need for a specific sponsor.”

A review of the Innovator visa, which allows experienced business people to set up companies with £50,000 investment, has been welcomed by founders.

“The Innovator visa is currently unfit for purpose, needing fundamental reforms to align incentives so the pricing is clear and more high-quality organisations become endorsing bodies,” Philip Salter, founder of The Entrepreneurs Network told City AM.

“As our Job Creators report has found, prior to Brexit 49 per cent of the fastest growing businesses in the UK had at least one foreign-born founder. If we are to continue this record, we need to ensure that the visa process is as fast and unbureaucratic as possible.”

Meanwhile, the new visa scheme allowing some Hong Kong residents the chance to live in the UK is live and ab estimated 300,000 Hongkongers are expected to take advantage of the programme. British National (Overseas) passport holders in Hong Kong and their dependents can take advantage of a new streamlined route to permanent residency and full citizenship in the UK.

Prime central London property is already being snapped up by Hong Kong buyers fuelling a further rise in house prices despite a 10% fall in GDP last year.

From Monday, travellers will need to carry a form before leaving the country stating that their trip is “permitted” under “stay-at-home” restrictions.

Supreme Court rules that Shamima Begum cannot return to UK to appeal against the removal of citizenship

Friday 26 February 2021. The UK’s highest court today ordered that Shamima Begum, who left the Britain to join Islamic State group in Syria as a 15-year-old teenager, cannot return and fight her citizenship case.

The Supreme Court unanimously ruled that her rights were not breached when she was refused permission to return, overturning a previous Appeal Court decision.

Ms Begum, 21, wants to return to the UK to challenge the Home Secretary's decision to strip her of citizenship and revoke her British nationality.

She was 15 when she and two other east London schoolgirls left their home in February 2015 and travelled to Syria to join IS where she married a freedom fighter and had three children. She now lives in a camp controlled by armed guards in northern Syria, but her children have since died.

The then-Home Secretary Sajid Javid revoked her citizenship on national security grounds in 2019, effectively leaving the teenager stateless.

In 2020, the Court of Appeal ruled to allow her into the UK to appeal against the decision, on grounds that she could not effectively do so from the camp in northern Syria.

The Home Office subsequently appealed to the Supreme Court, arguing that allowing her to return to the UK "would create significant national security risks".

Lord Reed, president of the Supreme Court, said the government had been entitled to prevent Ms Begum from returning to the UK.

Announcing the ruling, Lord Reed said: "The Supreme Court unanimously allows all of the home secretary's appeals and dismisses Ms Begum's cross-appeal."

He said the Court of Appeal's judgment "did not give the home secretary's assessment the respect which it should have received" given the role's "responsibility for making such assessments" and accountability to parliament.

Lord Reed added the Court of Appeal had "mistakenly believed that, when an individual's right to have a fair hearing... came into conflict with the requirements of national security, her right to a fair hearing must prevail."

He said the right to a fair hearing did "not trump all other considerations, such as the safety of the public".

She now remains in citizenship limbo, with no right to return to the UK under the law.

Home Secretary Priti Patel told the BBC the Supreme Court's judgement had "reaffirmed the Home Secretary's authority to make vital national security decisions".

She added: "The government will always take the strongest possible action to protect our national security and our priority remains maintaining the safety and security of our citizens."

UK citizenship

Citizenship grants the right of citizens to live in a country.

UK citizens have rights to things like welfare benefits, free education and healthcare, as well as the right to vote in elections.

You can gain the right to British citizenship if:

·        you or your parents are born in the UK

·        you legally live in the UK for a period of time, normally five years

·        marry a British citizen and have been in the UK for three years

Unlike people born in the United States, being born in the UK does not give you the right to citizenship. In the year to the end of March 2020, 163,624 people were granted British citizenship.

The UK allows dual nationality or for people to be citizens of more than one country.

How can you lose UK citizenship?

In the UK, a person can have their citizenship revoked, for the following:

·        Where t is deemed to be "for the public good" and would not make them stateless

·        The person obtained citizenship through fraud

·        Their actions could harm UK interests and they can claim citizenship elsewhere

Ms Begum was stripped of UK citizenship for the public good reason.

Although the UK has responsibilities under international law to avoid people being left stateless, in February 2020, a tribunal ruled that removing Ms Begum's citizenship was lawful because she was "a citizen of Bangladesh by descent" though her parents. However, Bangladesh claimed she would not be allowed into the country.

In most cases, the removal of citizenship, unlike revoking residency, involves serious threats to national security, such as terrorism or serious organised crime. British citizens can also have their passports taken away.

Uber Drivers are “NOT self-employed, Supreme Court Rules

In another Supreme Court case it was ruled that Uber drivers are not self-employed, which could have far reaching repercussions for the GIG economy and taxation of businesses which “employ” staff on “self-employed” basis.

As Boris Johnson announces a ‘Roadmap’ out of Lockdown, the UK vaccination programme points to an economic bounce back this summer.

And during these times, I am always excited whenever I find new solutions to help you in whatever way I can.

I’m sure you’ve heard of software tools designed to help you build websites, sales pages and online funnels.

Because sales funnels are proven to be effective, any such tools could reasonably command high monthly fees to access.

Unfortunately, this could also be out of reach for many business owners and marketers who are on a budget, especially during uncertain times.

This is where GrooveFunnels comes in.

GrooveFunnels is the new, better way to build funnels and sell digital products online.

It’s not just one or two simple tools, or solely a “funnel builder,” either.

This is your complete digital products and services online sales system.

Co-founded by Mike Filsaime, one of the top Internet marketing experts in the world, GrooveFunnels is a suite of products that includes all the tools you need to run your online business.

They have built a complete, all-in-one platform with all the essential tools so you don’t need to worry about multiple subscriptions to a variety of services that would easily add up to thousands per month.

Finally, you can get instant access to practically everything you need to sell your products and services online.

… Including:

- Full product funnels

- Brand websites with full navigation

- Custom domain names

- 1-click upsell capabilities

- Upsells, downsells and order bumps

- The world’s most powerful affiliate program

- And so much more…

Yes, this is a game changer.

And today, for a limited time only, you can get started for absolutely free.

No credit card. Lifetime access. Unlimited usage. Forever.

I’m not sure about you, but I will be switching my entire business over to GrooveFunnels.

Literally everything I need, and save thousands a month in the process.

You’ll have to see it to believe.

Let me know what you think.

P.S. Mike told me that he is making some huge upgrades to his tools over the next several days, and we’re not sure if this will continue to be free for long. However, if you get your account right now, you’ll still be able to keep your account for life, including all the future updates to the tools. Is this the end of the EU?

The EU is in turmoil following Brexit vote

French and Italian leaders plot against Merkel to force end German austerity measures

UK could deport 500,000 non-qualifying EU citizen migrants

Could this be the start of a EU meltdown?

Leaders of several EU nations have ‘had  enough’ of Chancellor Angela Merkel and German domination. Could this be the trigger that sets in motion the breakup of the European Union as we know it?

Greek, Spanish, Italian and even French leaders are plotting to take more control of the budget from Germany, the most powerful European nation, in a bid to end tough austerity measures in Southern Europe.

Greece, Portugal, Spain and Italy are suffering from poor economies and mass unemployment, which is one of the reasons why the UK had over 180,000 migrants from the EU last year. However, France has been a strong German ally even though its economy has been sluggish for years.

The UK has jobs. For instance, NHS has recruited thousands of Spanish and Portuguese Doctors, Nurses and Healthcare Assistants, and London’s bars and restaurants are full of EU workers. Hospitals are now recruiting non-EU Nurses from the Philippines to fill thousands of NHS vacancies.

European nations, along with the German people, are not happy with Merkel’s open door immigration asylum policy. Merkel’s open invitation caused the mass migration of millions of refugees desperately marching across Europe and dying in rafts on the Mediterranean last year.

The revolt against Germany, coupled with the UK Brexit vote, could lead to a collapse of the current EU format where richer countries prop up ailing economies which mismanage their money and produce little of value other than tourism and agricultural produce.

A new report last week warned that half a million migrants from the EU, could be forced to leave Britain following the Brexit process, sending a shiver of fear down the spines of European and non-EU partner migrants hoping to settle in the UK or exercise free movement rights under EEA regulations.

The immigration Ponzi scheme

The Germans actually need immigrants to boost their low birth-rate population and import younger workers to pay taxes, which support millions of state funded pensioners. In effect, they are mirroring a Ponzi scheme by paying pensions with new money from workers who will also qualify for state pensions in a few years time.

Fraudster Bernie Madoff

A Ponzi scheme is an illegal, fraudulent investment operation where the operator pays returns to its investors from new capital paid to them by new investors, rather than from profit earned from the investments. The scheme, named after the 1920’s fraudster Charles Ponzi, attracts investors by offering high than average returns.

People, it seems have short memories. More recently, the stockbroker Bernie Madoff ran the same Ponzi attracting billions of pounds from the public and celebrity investors before his arrest and subsequent life sentence 2008.

Other EU countries, including Britain, have similar ‘pension time bombs’ with a falling number of people in work directly funding a growing number of retired people who are living far longer than was expected when state pensions were conceived after the war.

By the time younger taxpayers reach retirement age there will be little left in the pot for them, and private sector employers are no longer providing the blue chip final salary pension schemes the previous generation enjoyed.

Today’s generation will be forced to make their own way in life or work until they drop, and there will be no more ‘jobs for life’. As the famous investor Warren Buffet put it, “If you do not have passive income, you will work until you die”.

People will have to change occupations and retrain several times during their careers, as well as developing a more entrepreneurial mindset. Some may turn to additional part-time work or home-based businesses, such as online marketing, MLM or network marketing to earn extra cash.

Fortunately, the internet has opened up a new world of learning, working, socialising and doing business. We no longer need to go back to school or university to learn new skills. We can work from home, start a business or find a new life partner all from the comfort of our home.

Theresa May will become the next UK Prime Minister, but will EU BREXIT take place?

Home Secretary Theresa May will become the next UK Prime Minister, replacing David Cameron who will officially resign on Wednesday, after her leadership rival Andrea Leadsom stepped down from the contest on Monday. There will be no drawn-out leadership election and May will move into Number 10 Downing Street this week.

Cameron, who was expected to stay on until the Autumn, will chair his last cabinet meeting today and, in line with British tradition and constitution, visit the Queen (Head of State) on Wednesday to tender his resignation.

He looks like a man who will be pleased to hand over the reins and get on with his life and young family. He will remain an MP in Oxfordshire and could take on other roles within the new government, although most former Prime Ministers tend to be gracefully retreat into the background to give the new leader space.

As Home Office boss since 2010, Theresa May oversaw David Cameron's plan to reduce net migration to the "tens of thousands" before the end of the last Parliament. The BBC claim she did not agree with the policy which saw thousands of private colleges closed down and abolition number of schemes including post study work visa, which attracted foreign students to come to the UK to study.

The plan failed, partly due to uncontrolled EU migration, and year net migration topped 330,000. The Conservative government has reduced new non-EU immigration, for instance by capping work permits and reducing the number of visa appeals allowed, but it will take a number of years for these policies to bear fruit. In the meantime, family migration - linked to migrants already in the UK - will continue to boom for the next few years even if we leave the EU.

BBC Home Affairs correspondent Danny Shaw said that May had a vice-like grip on the huge department cover immigration, UK borders, policing and counter-terrorism, and developed a deep understanding of the issues. Having met her after a speech at a small gathering, I can attest that she handled tough questions with ease and knew her subject inside out.

“BREXIT means BREXIT” - Theresa May

In her first public speech as PM elect yesterday, Mrs May said she would build a better Britain and make us stronger together. She also promised implement the BREXIT plans to leave the European Union and make a success of it. She would appear to be ruling out any chance of a second referendum despite being a ‘remain’ campaigner before the historic vote where 17 million people voted out and 16 million voted to stay in the EU.

There are no plans to reverse BREXIT (Britain's exit) and the actual process will take place after a Parliamentary vote to invoke 'Article 50' and start the complex divorce negotiations to quit the EU.

There is no change to the status of EU Nationals living in the UK at the moment and life goes on for everyone as we all deal with our own 'economy'.

Contrary to 'doom and gloom' predictions, life is getting back to normal with the Stock Market at higher pre-referendum levels, John Lewis reporting an bounce-back in sales and foreign property investor enquiries soaring with the benefit of a cheaper Pound - which has also helped tourist numbers leap. Siemens, the German industrial giant, has announced that it will stay in the UK and invest more money.

At the time of writing, there has been no announcement on who will take over as Home Secretary, as she will now be in charge of appointing her successor or reshuffling the cabinet.

Theresa May, who rose from humble beginnings as the daughter of a Vicar and served as a Councillor and Party Chairman, is seen as the steady pair of hands needed to guide the country through the challenging times ahead. She lasted longer in the Home Office – traditionally seen as a graveyard post – than any Home Secretary in modern times and is a ‘no nonsense’ leader who “gets on with the job”.
